I heart cookbooks!

There--I've said it! I love them! I'm having a not-so-secret affair with the city library! For the past year or so I've been taking cookbooks out of the library to see if they are worth buying--and I've discovered, for the most part, they aren't. Don't get me wrong, I have two 5-inch binders filled with photo copies of recipes I've loved the looks of but when it came down to it there were maybe a handful or two of recipes I've liked from each book--rendering the rest of the book semi-useless (gasp! I can't believe I just said that!). But, it is my intention that over time I'd get each of the books that I made a TON of copies from. Enter The Good Cook book club.

About a month ago I received a mailing about this book club that is all cookbooks. I'm always skeptical of these clubs--they promise you 4 for free and pay only shipping and handling and then for three years you are tied to them until you buy the rest of their product. The more i thought about the Good Cook though, the more it sounded like a really good plan. So, yesterday i bit the bullet and became a member. I ordered my four 50-cent cookbooks and then ordered my first completion cookbook for 50% off. Now, in the next two years i only have to buy two more. I can definitely handle two in two years time!
I'm so excited to get them in the mail--especially my Dorie Greenspan book, Baking. I've been dying to participate in Tuesdays with Dorie for a while now and will soon be able to! I also purchased a few of the other books that I have really come to love from my library borrowing trips. Here are the titles I've ordered--now I have to sit and be patient for them to come in...maybe I'll go and cook something or make my weekly recipe now...hmmmmm.....
